Rockets vs. Mavericks: NBA playoff schedule, TV info and more

The Rockets are continuing their season into the first round of the NBA Playoffs with a date from the boys up north, the Dallas Mavericks.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

After winning their first division championship in over 20 years, the Houston Rockets are set to square off with their division rivals, the Dallas Mavericks.

The first game will be Saturday night at the Toyota Center at 8:30 p.m. The Rockets faithful should be there en force -- depending on traffic and parking of course -- and hopefully they will buy up the tickets preventing our neighbors to the north from bringing any blue of any kind into the building.

The Rockets get two days off before Game 2 on Tuesday, two games off before Game 3 on Friday, just one day off before Game 4 next Sunday and after that it's all a bunch of *if necessaries.

Games 1 and 3 will be on ESPN and Games 2 and 4 will be on TNT. If the series is a sweep -- and it's hard to imagine it will be -- I don't foresee any games being shunted to NBATV or ESPN2. This is a primetime matchup, and it's being treated as such.
