A breakdown of small ball and where it may lead the Rockets in the bubble.
As the NBA (and the world, really), have locked down, I've been sifting through the somewhat forgotten 1989-90 NBA season. In that season of amazing individual performances, Hakeem put up a forgotten season for the ages.
I recorded a piece on whether / how Westbrook might fit into a Harden-dominated Houston offence. Take a listen and lemme know what you think [NB: skip to 15:55].
Context: Someone said that Steph Curry was a transcendent player. I replied saying that though he is great during this era, calling him transcendent implies that he would be great during any era of the NBA. which I disagreed with and said that he would have been considered more of a sharp shooter during most era's of the NBA and most likely manhandled during the 70's, 80's and 90's, the only other time where he might have been considered great was during the early stages of the NBA. This was almost exactly the original quote, without attacking anyone, just that I disagreed that he was transcendent. My comment was deleted once, and so I repeated it as much as I could remember after recognizing it had been deleted. It was deleted again. My last response was similar but with the last little tidbit added. Thoughts? Was I in the wrong?
The Chinese netizens have a vicious and creative streak, creating names and memes for everything they follow. I enjoyed this twitter thread *a lot*. For even more nicknames, check the replies as well!
Little bit of a video preview on how Chris Paul & James Harden will look sharing the ball - assists, alley oops, etc.
"HOUSTON ROCKETS – Full Record (29-9) / Since Last Time (15-2) Resolution: Pray that Clint Capela gets healthy The Rockets are R.O.L.L.I.N.G! James Harden is a legitimate MVP candidate, Coach Mike is a legitimate COTY candidate and Houston might be a legitimate Championship candidate come April. One thing is for sure though, they need Clint Capela back and firing for that last statement to have an ounce of chance. I am a big fan of Montrezl Harrell – who is averaging 14.8 pts, 5.4 reb and 1.2 blk on 70% shooting as a starter – but the Rockets need Capela back in the starting lineup to be a major threat in the playoffs."
His first ever game playing at MSG and he does this...
